Remember how I told you that I had to finish that Natural Disasters class in four days? Well, I got the results back today and after all the stress and heartache I got a B!!! I did not even think I was going to pass and I got a B!!! Oh on a side note, I got an A in my Family Finance class.

Grace and I went down to Temple Square last night to see the Christmas lights. It was amazing and INCREDIBLY crowded. I have never seen so many people down there, and I have even been down there for Conference!!! It was fun we parked down at The Gateway, wandered through there a bit, watched the water show at the olympic plaza fountain and then headed up to the Temple. It was beautiful and there were people everywhere, I wished that I had opted for the baby sling instead of the stroller because manuvering around all those people was insane! We quickly walked through and then headed back to the mall because Grace's hands were freezing and she was getting pretty tired!!! I tried to keep her hands wrapped up under the blanket she was wrapped up in but she refused. We had a very good time and really enjoyed seeing the lights. It was the first time in a VERY long time that I had been down to see the lights.
We woke up to snow this morning and I have decided that I really need to invest in a new snow shovel because the one I have is awful and I should probably also buy salt. I hate snow, yes its pretty to look at but its a pain in the neck to have to deal with. Grace is fascinated by it. She sat in the front room and watched it fall while I was out attempting to scrape it off my car and get myself dug out. I'm afraid that winter is here to stay.

10 Months Old

Grace is 10 months old today, and she's wearing 18month size clothes!! I never imagined that my little tiny baby, whose skin was too big for her when she was born just ten short months ago would get to the point where she would be double the size she is "supposed" to be in. She's HUGE! And she's getting another tooth! She's been having a hard time with it, fever and runny nose AGAIN! I feel so bad for her and am doing as much as I can to keep her comfortable. She's a pretty good sport about the whole thing though.

Doesn't she look so CUTE? She's learning so quickly and she's starting to try to pull herself up so she is standing next to the couch and she loves to crawl on top of me when I'm down on the ground playing with her.

Grace and I have been spending a lot of time in the kitchen lately trying to come up with something new and wonderful, unfortunately the only thing I have really seceded in is making a mess and catching my oven on fire, TWICE! I did come out of the disaster today with a pretty decent Orange Chocolate Cake that my neighbors said was pretty good. Grace and I also sat down and watched Wall-e last night. She actually watched it and was fascinated! Now I want to watch Hello Dolly!

Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you.

For instance, I took a look at my Geology class last week and double checked a few things and found out that it was not due at the end of NEXT week it was due YESTERDAY... so the past few days of my life have been spent pouring over a text book on natural disasters and attempting to retain enough information from the nineteen assignments I had to do to take FOUR exams all in three days! Go me!

Grace is getting bigger everyday it seems and she is starting to pull her self up and now when you hold her hands she will take steps!!! That's what I get for letting her socailze with kids her own age that can walk!!!

I can hardly believe its already Decemeber!!! Grace and I have been to the park almost everyday this week taking advantage of the unseasonably warm weather, although it was rather chilly today.

Grace and I are getting ready for the holidays, the wreath is hanging on the front door, the tree is up and decorated beautifully (thanks Mom and Anna!) the nativities are out one for me and one for Grace (her's she can chew on and be completely happy) and of course my menorah is up :) Now its time to start gathering addresses so we can start sending out cards. That should be fun to include the letter about how our year went... Rolling my eyes... this should be interesting.

Tonight its too much work to post any pictures and since I have been lazy ish (if finishing two exams, making four pies, cleaning the apartment and keeping Grace entertained is lazy) I have not been writing much in the blog.

Grace has been teething, she has tooth and its poking through! You can see it when she smiles, well almost. She thinks its the strangest thing in the world and she is always trying to put something in her mouth to use that new tooth. She also discovered how a straw works today! Remarkable really she sucked on it and her eyes got HUGE as if to say that is sooo cool mom! She is really getting into the crawling its the strangest thing to put her down in the front room soi can run to the bathroom then come out and find her under the kitchen table or in her bedroom trying to eat and tear apart her books.

We are excited for Thanksgiving at my parents house. I have even gone out and bought baby food turkey for her! Fun Fun Fun!

Anxious?

This little girl keeps getting bigger and bigger! She is 23 pounds and that meant it was time for a new carseat, Grace decided to try a hat on while we were shopping for the carseat. She left the hat on only long enough for me to snap the picture. She loves that she faces forward in the new seat! She likes being able to watch me drive and see where we are going, she gazes out the window with the funniest looks on her face sometimes, we were heading through the canyon when my friend snapped this one for me. (I do not take pictures while I'm driving that's just not safe!)

Unfortunately I can't figure out how to flip this picture so its upright but I thought you would enjoy seeing Grace helping me decorate the tree nonetheless. She was in charge of helping me untangle the garland, in reality I think she made more of a mess than anything but she had fun, and that' the real point isn't it?
Now, I know what you must be thinking. Emily put up a Christmas tree at ALL let alone in the middle of Novemeber. Well the tree has been riding around in the trunk of my car for the last week or so and I decided to just give in and put it up since I needed to reclaim my trunk! It was fun to pull it out and find some ornaments and whatnot. and NO we did not listen to christmas music while putting it up. (in case you were wondering)

Grace Is Crawling!

As I mentioned in my last quick blog Grace is now crawling! She switches between and army crawl and an up on all fours crawl. I thought many of you would enjoy getting to see it. She is keeping me on my toes, she pulled everything off the lower shelves of my bookcase yesterday morning, I needed to dust anyway. You get to see a mini fit in the clip too, I moved the phone in hopes she would keep crawling.

Grace has also taken up the habit of chewing on cords, any suggestions as to how to get her to stop? and keeping them out of reach is the obvious... duh. ;-)

As for me. . . if anyone reading this actually wonders... I am doing fine. I'm still at Subway, I'm a sandwich artist he he he *rolling my eyes* - I actually had a customer tell me how beautiful the sandwiches I made for her were! I am taking six credits through USU and I'm trying to enjoy every moment I can with Grace. She keeps me pretty busy even with her being perfect and all. :-) I was in need of a break yesterday so while Grace was down for a nap I grabbed my camera (which I am in DESPERATE need of a new one) and ran out front to take some new pictures of myself because I was in the mood to play with photos (after I took them I remembered that I did not have photoshop on this computer- grumble grumble) but I liked this one.

Random Things About Grace

Grace can now CRAWL!

She also babbles saying Mamamamama.

She wakes up every morning at 8:24, always 8:24.

She loves to chew on my phone but generally only if it is playing music and if you take it away from her she will throw a fit like you wouldn't believe.

She thinks that glasses are supposed to be pulled off the face and chewed on and are there strictly for her own entertainment.

She hates carrots and will not eat them even if she is starving!

She thinks that she should be allowed to feed herself and when she is done eating she does big raspberries to let you know she's full.

Home Again

What a week! Grace and I spent the week in Arizona. We did dinner at Great- Grandma Woods' on Sunday and got to see the slew of Cousins and Aunts and Uncles and Grace made sure that she was notices I think she puked on nearly everyone there! That must be the way she shows you that she loves you and if that is the case I must be her favorite person in the World! We had such a good week, full of spending time with Grandma and Jenny, shopping, and just relaxing. It was VERY HOT while we where there, in the triple digits most of the days, I jumped into the pool several times in the middle of the night it was GREAT! We went to Kassidiee's Volleyball game, which she did a great job of helping win! Grace loved watching it.

But as they say all good things must come to an end.

Grace and I finally returned home EARLY Sunday morning. Well technically we got into SLC around three pm on Saturday but we got a little sidetracked. We met up with my friend and went to a movie, Eagle Eye - it was the first movie that Grace had been to and she was fascinated! She loved it, the loud noises the colorful explosions I tried to get her to go to sleep and she would NOT have any of that she wanted to watch! She also got to experience RED licorice for the first time. She was completely covered by the time the movie was over, it took a change of clothes and more than ten baby wipes to fix the sticky mess. We also went to Pei Wei- one of my absolute favorite restaurants and then we cruised State Street, it was so fun!

Did I mention that when we returned home it was SNOWING? it was insane! To go from triple digits to SNOWING I had Grace all bundled up when we got into SLC but had no shoes or blanket because I hadn't packed shoes, I was lucky I had socks for her because I rarely even put those on why cover up those beautiful painted toes? And ME, I was wearing flipflops!

Spur of the Moment

Grace and Nate October 4, 2008
Well yesterday morning I got a bee in my bonnet about needing to get out of Cache Valley for a little while and since I am not scheduled to work till next Friday I threw a few things into a suitcase for Grace and myself and we hit the road. No destination really in mind but when we were about half way to Salt Lake I called Southwest and told them to book me on the first flight out of there. Grace and I got to Phoenix at 4:05 pm. She got to see Daddy for the first time in nearly 5 months! (next Friday would have been 5 months)

Today we went to breakfast with Nate and we are just getting ready to go shopping with Darlene aka "Grandma Higgins". I thought I would take advantage of the opportunity to use her computer while Nate fed Grace. She's about done now and we are getting ready to go off for another grand adventure. I will post more soon.

Ordinary Life

My wonderful friend Chelsea came over to my parents house yesterday morning with her two little boys. We talked and visited for a while while the boys played in the sandbox and Grace sat in the swing. She was perfectly content just sitting in it. She's a great people watcher, every once in a while she would want a little push but other than that she was completely happy.
After a while we decided we were all getting rather hungry so we headed off to Chelsea's house in Millville and made lunch.  Doesn't it look happy? (I was cracking eggs into a bowl so we could make a fritata and this is  happened about half way through and neither one of us could stop laughing.)
Grace and I returned home so I could get ready for work and she could go down for a nap. I set her down in the front room for a moment and when I came back I could not resist snapping a quick picture of my perfect little model baby. She's so much fun and I wish I could capture the sound of her growling for you all. Its hilarious she just sits there and grrrrs! at you if she is in a good mood.

I worked from 3:45 till 12:30 yeah that was a ton of fun. *rolling my eyes* everyone I worked with was in a grouchy mood and I was  at a different store than I was used to so things were a bit frustrating but I survived and will be glad when those extra hours show up on my check. It was a very long day though.

The Wheels Keep on Turning

Tuesday afternoon Grace, Clark and I jumped in my car and headed down to Vernal. Why? Because we could that's why! Also Clark is really wanting to get a job down there working in the Oil Industry because the pay is amazing, yes the work is hard but he can do it! I also wanted to go down and see what Vernal looked like.  Clark was in charge of the music and muchies and since I was the driver he climbed in the back with Grace to help keep her entertained. He did a wonderful job she only slept for the first little part of the drive which was her naptime anyway and then kept her awake until we were just about to pull into Vernal.  It was a 4+ hour drive but it was beautiful the entire way. You get to see all the vast landscapes that Utah has to offer in the drive, Mountains, Desert, Redrock and Forest... its pretty amazing.

When we got to Vernal we stopped to visit with a friend of mine for a
bit which was the highlight of the trip (well to me it was) Grace woke up shortly after we arrived and after puking all over Clark and then doing the same to me she ate a little bit and fussed a little so we decided the best way to get her back to sleep was to get back in the car, my friend, offered to show us around Vernal --at 10:30pm not much to see not going to lie except there is a pink dinosaur--
and took us to the only place that was open that late for dinner. McDonalds- and for being such a small town their McDonalds was pretty fancy! it had a 4 lane ordering system and the people that take your order aren't even in the McDonalds they are at a call center in Colorado! He also pointed out places Clark should apply to in the mornin
g if he was really interested in getting a job.

After the tour we  headed off to the local Motel 6... Th
at was fun let me tell you! I'm sleeping in my car next time.  My phone rang at 7:30am the next morning and it was my neighbor calling to tell me that their water heater had exploded and had flooded my apartment. Trying to fix a flooded apartment for 250 miles away was so much fun I was on the phone for the better part of the morning.  I drove Clark around Vernal to the few places he remembered that he should apply to and then we headed back home. I was dreading returning to my apartment not really something I wanted to deal with.

The drive home seemed eternal... for me at least.
Do you think it bothered Clark?

Just outside of Ogden Clark took over driving responsibilities and I climbed in the back with Grace. Would you believe at this point and time  she had been in her car seat with minimal adventures out (two changes of diapers) for almost five hours? She was such a good sport and was so happy for the better part of our entire adventure.
When we finally did pull into home I immediately wanted to turn around and go back to that Motel 6! My apartment was soaked. Luckily my wonderful neighbors had pulled my stuff out and laid it out to dry and pulled things out of the front room so they were not being dripped on anymore. The company that had been called to fix the mess left 5 fans and a dehumidifier to attempt to suck up and out the moisture that remained in the apartment.  My ceilings has spots all over it from where the water was dripping the carpet has been torn up pad removed and the fans are attempting to dry the carpet. They still aren't sure whether or not they will be able to save the carpet but luckily the only thing I know that I have lost lost are the copies of my bills.. (aw... rough huh?) There are a few things that will have some damage but I will survive. Its the waiting for things to dry out before I can put things back together that is the hardest part.  What do you think of the new layout of the kitchen? It will make eating that much more comfortable but... the question is HOW do I make anything?

New Experiences

Grace is now 17 lbs 14 oz, 26.5 inches tall!

Grace had her first trip to the zoo this last week 8/16/08. She and I went with a friend and his son and She LOVED it! It had been so long since I had been to the zoo I am sure I was just as fascinated as the two kids were.

We got to see the White Crocodile aka "The Ghost of the Bayou" he was pretty amazing. A little frightening because he looked like he was smiling and I just knew he was plotting something devious. Then there were the usual suspects  lions and tigers and bears! (oh my!) -I actually do not remember seeing a lion- Grace was fascinated with the giraffes, she kept looking back at me as if to say, "Do you see what I'm seeing here Mom!" She crashed about halfway through the zoo but she did so well and it was amazing to see her face light up with all the new sights, sounds and SMELLS!She slept for most of the ride back home from SLC and when she did wake up she did NOT want to be in her seat anymore. Luckily we had to stop for gas so I was able to take her out for a little bit change her and got her all set up with a bottle before we set off for home again. She was completely content after that.

...

I could not get this picture up on the last blog so here it is.

Half a Year!

Well after many attempts Grace finally did it! She rolled all the way over for the first time yesterday just one day shy of her 6 month mark!  She is getting so big and she gets such  a smug look on her face after she does it! She's so much fun!

Green Beans

Well since Grace is almost five and a half months old I decided that it was probably about time to begin introducing some new "food" to her, obviously this does not count the buggles, soda, and cotton candy that Grandpa and other various family members sneak her. She has been having rice cereal for more than a month and a half now so I opted for a veggie, and everything I have read said to give her green ones because they are not as sweet as other ones... (boring I know) so I bought some green beans (peas are next!) Looking at the pictures it does not look like she got much in her mouth does it?
Do you think she liked them?
<------Is this a sign?

Time for a Change

I know you have all been waiting to see when I would finally loose it and do "something" to my hair... well the wait is finally over! After weeks of contemplation... or minutes, I'm not really sure... I opted to go RED which I am sure surprises no one seeing as its generally my "shock and awe" color. I have not "done anything" to my hair since Grace was born (well a perm but that didn't take so well) and I thought it was time to have some fun! Grace LOVES it... she giggles and laughs when I shake my hair at her. I think its fun and its so bright and cheery and really who else do you know that could pull off such a bold color other than me? I make this look GOOD!

Grace is getting so BIG! I think its about time to change from size two diapers to size THREE! I can hardly believe that she is growing so fast! Its like she sprouts over night and is HUGE when she wakes up the following morning.

Idol Worship

What a couple of days!

As many of you know Grace and I were HUGE American Idol fans this last season, never missed a show! Because my cousin Brooke was on and did quite well actually Top 5! She is amazing and currently on tour with the American Idols. They had a two day stop in SLC and lucky us Grace and I got to run down on Monday before Brooke had to be at the venue and get to visit with her for a couple of hours. It was so great to get to catch up with her and her wonderful husband, Dave. It was so much fun to get to see her and just hang out. They were both very impressed with Grace and kept telling me she was so beautiful and that it was crazy that I was a mom, I agreed full heartedly. We went to lunch and I was amazed at how many people recognized Brooke. (Dave was such a good sport.) It was so very cool to watch people's faces light up when they realized who she was and then contemplate whether or not they should approach her or not. I think its funny that people look at her like a star but what I think is really funny is that I know exactly how they feel to be "star struck" not necessarily with Brooke (she's always been a star to me) but in general. Brooke is still Brooke and in her own words she is still "a big goober".
Tuesday Grace got to spend the day at Grandma and Grandpa's house while I went down to SLC for the show. Anna and I had amazing seats we could reach out and touch the stage! I have NEVER had seats that were that good to any concert I have EVER been to! Everyone was very good my favorite performance of the night was Brooke's of course but Michael Johns and the two David's most definately deserve honorable mention at least!

Brooke being the most awesome cousin that she is swung it so we got passes to the "aftershow" and we were able to get autographs with everyone and pictures as well. Everyone was VERY nice and I enjoyed getting to talk to a few of them. David Cook was very personable and had a good sense of humor and seemed to be very comfortable in his own skin, as weird as that may sound. His performance, was incredible! He is definitely an entertainer, he played the crowd as well as he played his guitar, and he got into it and seemed to be enjoying what he was doing. Anna actually caught a pick that he threw out into the crowd and I told her she will be lucky if she "gets" to keep it. I may have to go after her for that. :-)

Chikezie was AWESOME! He was such a ladies man, and when he talked to you he made you feel like you were the only person in the room. *sigh*
Michael Johns was such a goof ball just watching him interact with other people made me laugh. His performance was so enjoyable he got the crowd up out of their seats and brought everyone to their feet with his rendition of We Will Rock You and Dream On. Fantastic! And in case you are wondering he is even more attractive in real life! Now my favorite part of the evening was after all the stuff was over and we got to meet Brooke back at the hotel. *Watching everybody get off the bus was interesting, David Cook stopped and grabbed a can of something out of his bag and shook it up as Jason Castro got off the bus he pounced, silly string EVERYWHERE and in Jason's dreds very very funny and Jason was a pretty good sport about it. David Archuletta and his Dad were very nice and Archie is such a sweetheart and YES he really is as nice as he seems!) Just getting to hang out with Brooke for the better part of two hours was the best part of the night. It was so much fun to just sit around with the family and get to hear all the buzz and get her take on the way her life has changed. She is still the same ole' Brookie which is exactly what we all love about her! She humored us by signing autographs for us and a few friends that we promised them too and we even got a picture with her as we were leaving, we were all so tired at that point but we smiled nonetheless. Just Us "Goobers"
Anna and I didn't get home until almost four AM! I was so exhausted and so very grateful that my parents were so helpful in taking care of Grace. I can now say I
"Partied like and WITH rock stars!" I had so much fun, a once in a lifetime experience and not one I will soon forget.

Just the Girls

Its been a while since I have written last and well its probably time that I should. A lot has happened since my last post and our lives could be compared to a snow globe. Somebody shook it up and things are just starting to settle, they will never be the same but they are settling down and we are busy getting things back in order.

Grace has grown so very much! She is becoming such a big girl, she is laughing and smiling now. She LOVES to take a bath and get to splash around and play, she is going to be a little fish I am sure. I can hardly wait to get to take her swimming for real. She had her 4 month check up about two weeks ago and she passed with flying colors. Dr. Firth said she is doing splendidly and exceeded all expectations. She's perfect and right on track with her development. She wakes up in the morning so happy and full of smiles, she chews on her hands and has figured out that sticking out her tongue gets quite a reaction from EVERYONE.

I have been really busy getting things in order for me to return to school and I am also trying to decide what kind of job to get. I will keep you all updated on the goings on. That's about it for now.

Grace and I are looking forward to the 4th of July festivities out at my parents in Hyrum. The parade and fun. I hope Grace likes the fireworks!

What A Week!

Grace is starting to smile more often! I caught the very tail end of this one with the camera, as she practices her grin more often I hope to get MORE pictures. Lots has happened this week, Grace's hair is starting to fill in on top, and the fringe is starting to lighten up. Maybe she will be a blonde like me?

Grace and I had the opportunity to go down to Ogden with my family to the "sneak preview" of a new restaurant The Sonoran Grill on Tuesday. Its located in the newly revitalized historic district of Ogden less than a block from the Ogden temple. The restaurant was still obviously going through its last minute tweakings the lighting in the room we were in was construction lighting, the door had a fairly large gap at the bottom of it causing a VERY chilly draft to pass under it and nearly froze us out. However, the food was entertaining with chips brought out as full tortillas that you had to break up yourself ,three different kinds of salsa to try, a green tomatillo which had a fresh cold slightly crunchy texture, a red roasted pablano salsa that was lacking in tomatoes and had an interested after taste, and a hablano pepper salsa that was served warm and was very HOT spicy heat wise. The drinks were also fun, Mom had a hibiscus tea drink that tasted like drinking flower blossoms eck! and the rest of us tried the pomagranite juice which was wonderful, very sweet. Appetizers were fun, quesadillas with mexican cheese, and two different kinds of ceviche one with crab and the other shrimp both surprisingly delicious. Dinner was very good, I had steamed salmon with fresh refried black beans that were amazing, with fried plantains served atop a beautiful green banana leaf. Mom had taco salad with steak that the waitress told us was left over from the night before (hum... not something I would want to broadcast) Dad and Brandy had the tri-tip steak and Anna had the Airline chicken (apparently since it was a chicken breast served with the wing still attatched its called airline chicken, not because its something that you would get mid flight during the movie) served atop a stuffing like dish that was very limey and used tortillas as the bread, it was pretty great! Dessert was our choice between flan and churros. We all got one or the other and tried each others dessert, the Flan was beautiful but since I am not a fan of flan I did not enjoy it but the churros were pretty good they were served with chocolate sauce and the most interesting fresh marshmallows i have ever tried. Homemade marshmallows are such a treat but these had the most unusual aftertaste, come to find out they were PRICKLY PEAR flavored how odd? All and all dinner was fun and we did not feel like we were being rushed through our meal and it was an enjoyable experience, Grace had fun too she was passed around the table throughout dinner and she looked adorable, she debued her yellow Daisy dress and it was a smash hit! (Pictured below)

Grace and I have spent much of the week going back and forth between Logan and Hyrum to visit with Grandma and Grandpa White . We ran out on Thursday night and I ended up making dinner ( Mom and Dad were too hungry to figure out what to make ) while Grandpa read to Grace, funny little cardboard books (a gift from Grandma) that are cut out in the shape of various animals and Grandpa being the goofball he is tended to make the stories even funnier than they were. Grace LOVED IT!

Aunt Anna came over on Friday after she got off work and very kindly watched Grace for Nate and I so we could go on a Date. We went to dinner with our friends Shawn and Melissa and then to a movie, when we returned Grace had her tiny little toes painted BRIGHT RED, she looks beautiful! (Click on the picture and you will be able to see her toes better.)
Grace and I watched the first session of General Conference today and she zonked about halfway through, she's a quick study.

We love you and will add more at later date.

More Pictures

What's up?

"My demands? One Billion dollars!"

Big Beautiful Eyes!

Also if you click on the photo you get a full size image of it, that fills the screen.

Quiet Moments

"What? I'm supposed to be in charge of the blog? I don't think so Mom!"

I find myself with a few quiet moments this afternoon. Nate is still sleeping and Grace is down for a nap. I have a load of laundry going and the rest of the house is pretty well put together so I thought I would update the blog and then perhaps take a nap myself.

Mudd sent me a text this morning and wonder of wonders I was awake, feeding Grace of course, why else would i be awake in the morning? Anyway she wanted to know if I would like to go to JoAnn's to get some flannel which was on SALE for two bucks a yard! Wohoo! I told her I would love to so after Grace fell asleep Mudd swung by to pick me up and since I'm going to be a domestic diva/wicked awesome mommy if it kills me I decided that I would get some flannel. I'm learning to crochet and since I am working on developing this new skill I am going to attempt to put edges around various things ie baby blankets, burp rags and bibs so the fabric will come in handy, I got enough to do a blanket bib and burp cloth for Grace and one for my friends baby boy as well. I figure at least I will have lots to keep me busy.

Grace woke up this afternoon shortly after I got home in a good mood and was not demanding that I feed her immediately she seemed just content to know that I was home and close by. But if i walked out of her sight she was NOT happy but since she was in such a good mood I decided to snap some pictures of her while she was agreeable.

I LOVE this picture! She was giving me a big smile but my camera wasn't fast enough so I only got the tail end of it. Still adorable though.

I have posted more pictures on photobucket for those of you that want to check the link is: http://s262.photobucket.com/albums/ii97/auntieem1984/

Growing

What a day!

Grace seems to be hitting a growth spurt and a "don't put me down!" phase all at the same time. She has also been running a slight fever on and off all day, nothing to be too concerned about but I'm pretty sure that has something to do with the clingyness we have been dealing with today.

Nate had quiet an experience today, he gave Grace a bath ALL BY HIMSELF! Neither one of them were too happy about it but I figured it was better to finally get it over with, Grace is seven weeks old now its about time Daddy give her a bath! And since Grace no longer fits in the kitchen sink (she's too long) they took the new baby bath for a test drive. They both survived and are no worst for the wear however after such a trying event they were both worn out!

Nate treated me to dinner tonight, I didn't have to do a thing, he fried chicken (from scratch!) and made au gratin potatoes ! And I did not have to go into the kitchen once to help! It was a welcomed break. I was busy feeding Grace and trying to soothe her while he was doing it but it was nice to have one less thing to worry about.

Since Nate was so great and made dinner I did the dishes, he took Grace and when I walked back into the front room to check on them this is what I found.

I was half temped to curl up next to them but there was no room!

Easter

Its been quite a week. I had my gallbaldder out on Wednesday and boy have I been exhausted since then! Apparently its pretty common to have to have your gallbladder out after having a baby, it was not fun but I am doing much better now. Hurray!

Clark finally got his Eagle and his Eagle court of honor was on Friday and since many family members were going to be here and we didn't know when we could get everyone together again Nate and I decided it would be a good idea to bless Grace that night as well. Other than the fact that she was getting blessed, it was really special because Grace got to wear the dress that her Grandma White was blessed in, she looked so beautiful and her Daddy did a wonderful job!

Nate and Grandpa White shortly after the blessing. Grammy White holding Grace prior to the blessing, she was showing her friends how beautiful the blessing dress was! It was HUGE on Grace but we figured that Grammy was probably not only eight pounds when she was blessed! Take notice of Grace's beautiful shoes, she wore ruby slippers, I bet you can't guess whose idea that was... he he he.

Easter was a fun day, we went to Grammy and Grandpa White's and we had Deviled Eggs and Ham... of course! It was wonderful and lots of fun to get to spend Easter together as a family.
